On the banks of the Guadiana River, in Vila Real de Santo António, begins an interesting journey that takes you to Castro Marim, where visitors are stunned by its noble castle, one of the most significant monuments in Portugal from the middle ages. A road with a good surface and little traffic climbs up to the Monte Rei golf course, from where you pass through Curral de Boeiros before starting a descent into the Asseca Valley, always surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Sotavento. This route ends with another climb up to the village of Santo Estevão. There is a point on the route that invites you to take a moment for contemplation, alongside the Formosa Estuary in the fishing village of Santa Luzia.
