In the western Algarve, Lagos is a city with a delightful walled old quarter, as well as beautiful cliffs and magnificent beaches, such as D. Ana, Porto de Mós, Meia Praia or Pinhão beach. Also notable are the Ponta da Piedade caves, Lagos Marina and Live Science Centre. Among the gastronomy of the region, there is the great variety of seafood and fish, especially its fresh sardines and seafood rice.
