Leaving the Historical Village of Castelo Mendo to the north, this section follows along plateaus overlooking the Côa. Start by going to the EN16, through a dirt track, next to which you cross the A25 through an underpass. From this point, continue on flat ground and again on dirt until Leomil, then pass through Ansul and arrive at Aldeia Nova, always in the same type of environment. Continuing along the plateau, the route converges ahead with the EN340, where it joins the "Grande Rota do Côa" to, together, cross the river by the old bridge and go up ancestral paths to historical village of  Almeida, separating just before reaching it.
