This section begins in Esposende, heading north until it reaches Viana do Castelo. Facing the sea is a Baroque church which guards the image of Senhora da Agonia (Our Lady of Agony), worshipped by fishermen. Further on you can visit the beach at Vila Praia de Âncora, which stretches from the fishing port to the mouth of the River Âncora. Continuing to Caminha, we get to the Moledo beach, an expanse of white sand. In Moledo you can see the Fort of Ínsua on a small island 200 meters from the shore. There is a well with drinkable water here, which is notable since it is in the middle of the sea, one of three in the whole world. As we reach the end of the section, and the route, we find ourselves in Caminha, a fortified border town at the mouth of the River Minho. The Minho estuary and the Mata Nacional do Camarido are worth visiting.
