The connecting route between the Minho River Ecotrail (Valença) and the Caminho do Rio (Vila Nova de Cerveira) is an experience of contrast in landscapes that provides all the enjoyment of the ‘green way’ that crosses Vila Nova de Cerveira and connects this area to Valença.
It runs through a nature reserve area Natura 2000 – the Veiga da Mira Biotope, at the confluence of the Mira Creek with the Minho River, and is considered one of the most important flora and fauna reserves. This wetland allows one to view marshes that harbour extensive alder woodlands and a variety of migratory birds, and boasts about eleven different habitats.
