Leaving Castro Daire the route follows the Paiva river along the right bank in a large extension. The crossing to the left bank takes place at the Brasileiro bridge, in Pinheiro, following it also along the bank to Reriz. In Reriz it moves away from the valley towards S. Martinho das Moitas, by dirt roads and some stretches of asphalt. After the passage in the latter location, the ascent to the Arada mountain begins by forest roads, which ends at S. Macário. This is a reference point for being a place of worship and for offering panoramic views both to the mountains of Arada, Freita and Montemuro and to the Vouga valley and Caramulo mountain.
