This stage starts next to the Sernada do Vouga railway station, where visitors can get on the "Vouguinha" train. It continues along the river, in the direction of its source, as far as Foz do Rio Mau. It's a route with stunning landscapes that intersperse forestry, agricultural fields and orange groves with the tunnels, emphasising the beauty of the Ecotrail by framing these architectural structures with the surrounding landscape. Crossing the Poço de Santiago Bridge, a former railway bridge that is considered to be the highest in the country, built of masonry, the stage passes the old Paradela Station, a place of welcome and support. From here it continues slightly uphill until it crosses the old Cedrim railway station.
