The route begins at the long sandy beach of Santa Cruz and continues a short distance from the coast as far as Vimeiro. Carrying on northwards it arrives in Santa Bárbara. From here the route hugs the coast, crossing Lourinhã. This region combines beautiful beaches with agricultural landscapes and even vestiges of dinosaurs. To the north it reaches the district of Peniche, located on a peninsula and well known for its beaches. The section ends close to Cape Carvoeiro.
