Leaving the town of Castelo de Paiva the route continues north, towards the bank of the Douro and the mouth of Paiva, crossing the villages of Vale da Moita, Leiros, Moimenta and Castelo. The connection to the municipality of Cinfães is made by Caninhas Bridge, the last crossing between municipalities before the mouth. At Cinfães, in Escamarão, the route goes up the slopes of the Paiva river through secondary asphalted roads and granite sidewalks. In this area the houses are dispersed and there is still a lot of agricultural activity on these slopes. There is a strong interaction with the local population and several support points. Cross the villages of Couto, Fonte Coberta and finally arrive at the Center for the Promotion of River Sports and Nature, installed in the building of the old elementary school of Covelo.
