Póvoa do Mato (Anadia) » Palhaça (Oliveira do Bairro)

Grande Rota da Ria de Aveiro - Percurso Verde / Walking

From Póvoa do Mato to Palhaça, this stage continues from village to village, through a mix of landscapes showing areas of vineyards, pine trees, eucalyptus and cultivation, essentially corn and vegetables. We are in the fertile lands of Baixo Vouga, at less than 80m of altitude, and in an area already relatively dense in population terms. Right at the beginning of the trail you can make a right turn to discover the Canhota Park and visit an old windmill, recently restored. Again on the trail, you pass through the village of Serena and, in Monte Longo da Areia, take a left turn, through the peaceful EM1582, crossing areas of eucalyptus production and vineyards before reaching the center of Póvoa do Forno. After this locality, a left turn takes you to Troviscal parish, highlighted by its connection to music, since there is the Bairrada Music Conservatory and the Bairrada Ethnomusic Museum to visit. Back to the route, near Malhapão you can again make a detour, now to the quiet Cales Park, with beautiful forest surroundings. A final stretch follows, along Pedreira Street, until Palhaça, where the stage connects with the GR58 Golden.
