With the Vicentine Coast and Serra de Monchique marked on the map, the pretty coastal town of Lagos is the starting point for a unique journey. The first achievement comes after passing Bensafrim and conquering Serra de Espinhaço de Cão, before arriving at the coast. After a few kilometres, give in to the temptation of a cultural tour around the historical village of Aljezur, to regain a bit of energy before the long climb to Marmelete. Upon reaching Portela do Vale, where the famous Medronho spirit is produced, prepare to enter the heart of the mountains, twisting and turning around Fóia. From Monchique, continue towards Alferce and conquer the heights of Picota before getting ready for an epic return journey, descending towards Casais and Lagos.
