A cubist town with deep-running fishing traditions, Olhão has an interesting route to offer that starts opposite the renowned public market buildings alongside the Formosa Estuary. After a few kilometres of pedalling over predominantly flat ground along the EN 125 - paying particular attention to the heavy traffic, you get the opportunity to unwind as you cruise through the rural hinterland of the district, with pretty villages such as Moncarapacho, Estiramantens and Pereiro. After riding around the edge of São Miguel hill, get ready for a steady climb as far as Azinheiro. Countryside smells give you the impetus for the next descent, which passes through the village of Pechão.
