The Laranja route, in Ponte de Lima, provides a link between the town and the pier of Garrida, in Refoios do Lima. We begin this section on the right bank, near the Roman-Gothic bridge which has connected the two banks for 2000 years. It is a unique construction from the time of the Roman emperor Octavius Caesar Augustus, and is designated as a national monument. Along the rest of the stretch to Refoios do Lima, we find ourselves following the riparian gallery of the Lima River, composed of oak, ash, alder and willow trees. Near this spot, the ecotrail continues through the region of Arcos de Valdevez.
