The route starts next to the primary school and continues along a narrow path towards Penedo Grande hill. When it reaches the top of the hill it turns towards the village and the continues parallel to the railway line, towards the Gavião River and Arade River. After passing the Funcho reservoir and Passadeiras, it rejoins the path running towards Abrutiais. Further on, a dirt path climbs up the biodiversity-rich hillside of Cerro da Agulha, passing through the neighbourhood of Furadouro. It continues along the cool, narrow streets of the village of Messines, towards the start of the route.
