The route starts in Fóia before descending towards the north east and passing several terraces mainly used for grazing. Leave the tarmac and the walk now follows a dirt path.

Continue downwards and you will reach road EN266, where you should continue with care due to busy traffic. You can take a break in this area to rest and get ready for the return climb. Turn right onto a pavement that will take you back to the top of Fóia. On clear days, take advantage of the chance to enjoy views over the Algarve towards part of Alentejo.
