After passing Furnazinhas northwards, the route takes walkers through a rugged landscape with clearings, meadows, large cistus patches and occasionally small orchards still used by the locals. The terrain is rugged and cut through by several small water channels. You will come across small areas of dwellings, some almost uninhabited, such as Monte Novo, next to the national highway, one of the area’s highest spots (215m). Next comes Monte das Preguiças, where there is a small reservoir, which is an excellent spot for observing the region, Malfrades, where you can still find some houses built in the traditional way. Lastly you enter Vaqueiros, the seat of the parish council.
