From here, the route goes into the Mú or Caldeirão mountains and becomes more demanding, with very winding and rugged terrain, with demanding ascents and descents into areas of verdant valleys. Several hamlets can be visited along the way, such as Currais, Alcaria Alta and Castelão. Next, you arrive at the banks of the Odeleite river, a site of outstanding natural beauty, where walkers can enjoy a well-deserved rest before starting the long ascent towards Parises.
Heading westwards, you cross the Bufo, Javali and Corgo de Loulé ravines. The route continues to the mouth of the Formoso Valley river, a tributary of the Odeleite River, before later arriving at the Velho Ravine.
