The Rocha da Pena Local Protected Landscape can be viewed by walkers along much of this route; it is a significant feature in the landscape, with a height of 479 above sea level. Walk through Benafim and continue northwards, passing through several dry farming fields, before arriving at the Freixo river that flows eastwards. End the route by following the Alte River, at Fontes Grande and Pequena.
