This circular route runs through Montado do Fanal, passing through the main points of interest. The shelters in Cidade Fidalga; The Cargo Wire Cable, which once carried wood and bracken to the cultivated fields below in Ribeira Funda; The mighty Stinklaurels; Fanal Lagoon (Lagoa do Fanal); The various viewpoints overlooking the north coast and highest peak, Pico Ruivo. Along with the overwhelming beauty of the area, and a mandatory visit when in Madeira Island, the trail itself was designed to allow access to all types of riders. Mainly along a singletrack, it can be divided into two sections, the first encircling the lagoon and the second, the plateau. It’s a unique and memorable experience.
