A challenging but rewarding route through the region’s interior. An easy start and finish, sends you through stunning scenery along the Guadiana river bank. From there, you can see Spain on the opposite bank. In Montinho das Laranjeiras you can visit the Roman villa. After Guerreiros do Rio, there is a tough uphill section that takes you through Corte das Donas and on to Balurcos. Return to Alcoutim via Corte Tabelião. The view over the town, the river and Sanlúcar de Guadiana, on the Spanish side, are simply breathtaking! On hot days, don’t miss a refreshing dip at the Pego Fundo river beach.
