Leaving Linhares da Beira towards the Rossim Valley, this stage passes through the Portela de Folgosinho, the Santinha Lookout Post and the former forest service house. Before the Vale do Rossim dam, the GR22 turns right and follows a dirt track along the Fervença stream to Sabugueiro. It continues to follow the River Alva, along the levadas until the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Desterro. Follow in the direction of Lapa dos Dinheiros, until Valezim, to start the ascent to Portela do Arão, where it differs from the pedestrian modality. The pedestrian GR starts the descent to the village of Cabeça following the levadas until Muro e Vide. In Vide, follow the platform that is above the schist terraces along the Piódão stream passing through Casa de Figueiras, Foz D´Égua until you start climbing to Piódão
