Leaving through Devesa, the route continues towards Urgueira and after the village, continues towards Sabugal Castle. After crossing the old nucleus, crosses the industrial area passing the Ribeira de Arnes near the village of Torre, which passes through several paths and marshes and enters the south side in Ozendo and later crosses the Soito. Here the GR22 continues along walled paths between agricultural fields and passes Ribeira and Aldeia de Alfaiates. Head towards Rebolosa where, next to the bullring, you enter a path that will converge with the Cesarão River. Follow the river to Aldeia da Ribeira, Vilar Maior, and after passing the Medieval Bridge to Malhada Sorda. On unpaved paths passes the Medronhal, then Freineda, and goes down the Côa valley to start the climb to Castelo Mendo.
