The route starts by running along the coast as far as Vila Nova de Cacela. The flat ground of the first few kilometres gives way to a stage with successive ascents and descents towards Castro Marim, progressively stepping up as far as the village of Azinhal. Take the EN 122 to the Odeleite reservoir and enjoy the fresh air as you tackle the challenging ascent to Furnazinhas before entering the district of Alcoutim, passing through the village of Soudes. Labelled one of the most traditional villages of the Algarve hinterland, Cachopo awaits us at the top of the Serra do Caldeirão, on the way to Barranco do Velho. The descent to São Brás de Alportel leads to the undulating return route to Tavira, along the EN 270.
