Trancoso - Linhares da Beira
Grande Rota das Aldeias Históricas / Walking
Leaving Trancoso to the south, it descends towards the district of Miguel Choco, passes through Vendo do Cepo and enters the Muxagata river valley. As it runs along this valley it passes through Aldeia Nova and follows the stream as far as its mouth on the river Mondego. Here it crosses the railway line and the motorway, follows the river Mondego downstream and crosses it at a weir (the crossing is not possible when the river is in flood) before climbing the slope towards the EN16. After crossing this road, the route continues to the south, skirting Vila Soeiro and passing the districts of Mesquitela, Carrapichana and Figueiró da Serra in the direction of Linhares da Beira, when you join the Roman Road public footpath.
