It starts at the Mexilhoeira Grande railway station and departs towards this village, crossing the EN 125. After passing the church of Nossa Senhora de Conceição it continues towards Figueira, crossing the Farelo River. It turns left to cross a bridge over the A22 and continues in the direction of Vidigal. It continues straight ahead and climbs up to the left close to a dam. From the top, walkers can enjoy a great view of Fóia and Portimão before continuing towards Moinho da Rocha, where a climb starts towards Monchique, close to the Senhora do Verde River. At Portela da Nave the route continues for a few metres on a tarmac road, before turning left onto a secondary road towards Monchique, as far as the roundabout.
