A very tough circular route, but a unique adventure. The first half is identical to that of route 14. When it reaches Cruz da Jogadas it descends to Covão da Ponte, where it crosses the Mondego river and follows it upstream towards its source, Mondeguinho, and Penhas Douradas. The final descent to the village of Manteiga passes through Carvalheira. As with route 14, we recommend taking sufficient water and food to make sure that you are able to enjoy this tough adventure independently as there is a lack of support points.
