This stage of the Grand Route of the Magic Mountains (GR60) starts in the center of Felgueira village, heading towards the Freita mountain, through rural pathways. At the top of the mountain it’s mandatory to stop in Cabeço do Gralheiro Viewpoint. This place offers stunning views over some distant places, such as Estrela mountain and Ria de Aveiro in the Atlantic coast. The route continues until reaching the Interpretive Center of Freita Mountain and, already in the plateau area, you cross the village of Castanheira where it ́s possible to visit the geological phenomenon of Birthing Stones, and its interpretative center. The route follows by footpath and sidewalk to Albergaria da Serra and then to the Merujal Campsite. This stage, although short, has many points of interest.
