In the past, it was from the Béstida Pier that the passage was made, by boat, to Torreira. The stage towards Carregal starts with a route to the north, up to Varela, where in 1964 the beautiful arch bridge was built, allowing the land crossing between the eastern part of Murtosa territory and the parish of Torreira, integrated in the coastal isthmus that links Ovar to S. Jacinto. We head south to the Mancão Pier, where the Bunheiro farming fields make way for the marshland landscape, in a filigree of creeks, the habitat for excellence of the limousine birdlife of the ria. The Rivers follow one another, sinuously entering the lands, the Gago River, with its scenic walkway, the Martinho River, the Boca da Marinha River and the Teixugueiras River, gateways to the Ribeiras de Pardilhó (Bioria) Route. Along its piers and river branches, the route approaches the "Museum of Tile City", Ovar, not before crossing the scenic walkways of the Ribeira do Gago Pier and part of the route of the Ribeiras de Pardilhó (BioRia), excellent for the practice of cyclo-tourism. It departs the Ria by crossing a forest path, with bicycle track, reaching its northern point in Carregal, after crossing Ovar.
