Created in 2008, its mission is the sustainable development of traditional salting in Castro Marim, in a business context aligned with social and cultural goals, being part of a community of salineers, proud of their ancient heritage and believers in the future. Thus, its values are to protect and guarantee the sustainability.

In the saltern of Barquinha, located in the Sapal de Castro Marim e Vila Real de Sto. António Nature Reserve, Água-mãe, Lda. disclosure the production of Fleur du Sel and Artisanal Salt and also of all the health benefits provided by traditional salting. That space focus on raising awareness of the food quality of this type of salt, betting also on the practical demonstration of the benefits of these salts on the physical and mental health.
